FinMin urges Russia to shield citizens from Trump’s economic impact

Russia must protect its citizens from potential economic impacts under Donald Trump’s presidency, Finance Minister Anton Siluanov told Rossiya-24.

Siluanov emphasised that Trump’s leadership could influence the global economy but assured that Russia’s plans would proceed as intended.

Trump, the Republican candidate, secured enough Electoral College votes in the November 5 election. The US Congress is set to certify the results on January 6, 2025, with Trump scheduled to take office as the 47th president on January 20.
