Fire at Cairo Vaccination Centre Kills One, Injures Five

At least one was killed and five others wounded after a fire broke out early Sunday at a state-owned vaccination and drugs facility in western Cairo, Al-Ahram Arabic news website reported.

The fire at one of the building’s storehouses caused an explosion that rang out in Al-Dokki, across the Nile from downtown Cairo, sending clouds of smoke flying into the air.

Initial investigations show that the fire broke out after a gas tank exploded.

Health ministry spokesman Hossam Abdel Ghaffar said earlier that the injuries were mostly caused by suffocation.
