Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry will arrive in Saudi Arabia’s capital Riyadh Wednesday night to meet with his counterpart Adel Al Jubeir, Al Ahram Arabic news website reported.
Shoukry will discuss with Al Jubeir the “new challenges” which the region is facing following the nuclear deal sealed in Vienna last Tuesday by Iran and the P5+1 group: the United States, China, Russia, Britain, France and Germany.
They will also be discussing the situation in Yemen as Saudi Arabia continues to mount attacks to curb the Shiite Houthi rebels since March with minor participation from the Egyptian navy and air force.
Al Ahram news website also reported that the meeting comes in light of “rumors” around disagreements between Saudi Arabia and its historical ally Egypt over some key regional issues such as the situation in Syria.
