France hands over smuggled Egyptian artifacts in official ceremony

Egypt’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, Badr Abdel-Atty attended on Thursday a ceremony at the Egyptian Embassy in Paris to mark the repatriation of smuggled artifacts recovered in cooperation with French authorities.
During the event, Minister Abdel-Atty expressed Egypt’s appreciation to France for its assistance in retrieving the antiquities, stressing the importance of combating antiquities smuggling networks. He directed the swift completion of procedures to transport the recovered pieces back to Egypt, working in coordination with the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities.
The minister commended the ongoing efforts of Egyptian diplomatic missions to recover stolen cultural heritage, highlighting the close collaboration between embassies, the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, and the Public Prosecutor’s Office in protecting Egypt’s cultural legacy.
