Frozen strawberries were Egypt’s biggest food export in the first eight months of 2025, with shipments surging 78 per cent year-on-year to $571 million, the Food Export Council (FEC) said on Monday.
Cola concentrates came second at $404 million, up 3 per cent, followed by edible oils at $285 million, a 41 per cent rise from a year earlier.
Sugar exports dropped 12 per cent to $256 million, while flour and milling products slumped 39 per cent to $208 million, a decline of $131 million, the council said.
Cereal-based preparations rose 37 per cent to $224 million, and prepared animal feed climbed 50 per cent to $183 million. Exports of frozen vegetables edged up 2 per cent to $180 million, while frozen potatoes advanced 20 per cent to $179 million.
Juice exports fell 21 per cent to $166 million, a loss of $45 million. Vegetable preparations increased 15 per cent to $148 million, while chocolate exports jumped 38 per cent to $151 million, up $42 million.
Exports of pickled and processed olives declined 16 per cent to $128 million. Yeast shipments rose 26 per cent to $130 million, and assorted food preparations fell 20 per cent to $111 million.
