Frozen strawberries led Egypt’s food exports in the first half of 2025, with shipments surging 75 per cent year-on-year to reach $442 million, the Food Export Council (FEC) said on Thursday.
Cola concentrates were the second-largest export, bringing in $299 million despite a 4 per cent dip, followed by edible oils at $184 million, up 25 per cent.
Sugar exports dropped 13 per cent to $171 million, while flour and milling products fell sharply by 40 per cent to $156 million.
Cereal preparations climbed 30 per cent to $151 million, and frozen vegetables posted modest growth at $136 million (+1 per cent). Frozen potatoes rose 24 per cent to $132 million, and prepared animal food matched that figure with a 38 per cent jump.
Juices and concentrates rounded out the top ten exports at $127 million, marking an 18 per cent decline from the same period last year.
