Chairman of Egyptian General Authority for Investment (GAFI) Mona Zobaa resigned from her position on Monday, without clarifying the reason for this resignation.
In August 2017, Prime Minister Sherif Ismail appointed Mona Zobaa’ as the executive director of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones.
In May, Zobaa’ was announced to replace GAFI’s former CEO Mohamed Khodeir.
The new executive director was appointed as GAFI’s deputy head in February 2015 after serving as head of the investment policies department at the Ministry of Investment.
Being the national coordinator for a number of international organizations, Zobaa succeeded during her tenure , together with her team, to induce radical improvements in Egypt’s investment climate, and to subsequently enhance Egypt’s rankings in many international reports that monitor the investment performance.
