Egypt’s General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) CEO Hossam Heiba met with Giza Governor Adel El-Naggar on Monday to discuss investment promotion along the Cairo-Alexandria Desert Road and in the Bahariya Oasis, as per Cabinet a statement.
The two sides agreed to showcase Giza’s investment opportunities on Egypt’s national investment map.
El-Naggar highlighted the impact of recent infrastructure upgrades on increasing the investment appeal of key areas, particularly the Bahariya Oasis and the stretch between Sphinx Airport and the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM).
He outlined opportunities in agriculture, food industries, tourism, and logistics, noting strong local and foreign investor interest, especially in eco-friendly projects.
Heiba reviewed incentives for eco-tourism and medical tourism investments and confirmed the authority’s commitment to promoting the Bahariya Oasis as a prime destination, given its proximity to Cairo and Sphinx airports.
He also noted high demand for logistics and distribution hubs in Giza, emphasising that the authority’s management of investment zones reduces bureaucratic procedures by 80 per cent, making the region more attractive to investors.
