Galala University partners with e& Egypt to launch cutting-edge telecom lab
Egypt’s Galala University (GU) has signed a cooperation agreement with e& Egypt to establish a state-of-the-art telecommunications laboratory on campus, the Egyptian Cabinet announced on Tuesday.
The agreement was signed by Mohamed El-Shinawi, president of Galala University, and Hossam El-Maadawy, Chief Institutional Sector Officer at e& Egypt, in the presence of Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research Ayman Ashour.
As part of the agreement, e& Egypt will equip the lab with the latest telecommunication technologies and infrastructure, supporting both academic and research activities. The initiative aims to enhance students’ skills, providing them with hands-on training in the field.
The telecom lab will feature advanced devices, installation services, and adherence to top safety and quality standards, ensuring an optimal learning environment for students.
Minister Ashour emphasised that the initiative aligns with Egypt’s national strategy for higher education and scientific research, highlighting the importance of private sector collaboration in advancing education. He noted that the lab will promote interdisciplinary learning, integrating telecommunications and IT with various scientific fields, ultimately boosting students’ digital competencies and employability.
