Ganoub El-Wadi Petroleum Holding Company (Ganope) plans to implement projects to generate electricity through solar and coal power in Upper Egypt, Chairman Abu Bakr Ibrahim said Wednesday.
The generated power from those projects will be used to operate oil fields and wells, the Chairman stated.
Those plants would participate in solving power crisis in Upper Egypt hence attracting more investments to increase oil and gas explorations in firm’s concession areas, Ibrahim added.
Moreover, the Chairman noted that Ganope is working according to a specific strategy to boost production rates, provide Upper Egypt governorates’ needs of fuel within the upcoming period in addition to developing and upgrading the infrastructure in Upper Egypt governorates.
