The GCC states approved a unified Gulf tourist visa, said GCC interior ministers in a meeting in Muscat on Wednesday.
The project seeks to link traffic violations between the GCC countries.
Interior Minister of Bahrain, General Shaikh Rashid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, headed the country’s delegation at the meeting.
In his speech, he said King Hamad stressed on Bahrain’s stance in support of a two-state solution, according to the Arab Peace Initiative.
This will guarantee the right of the Palestinians to establish their independent state, with East Jerusalem as its capital, he added.
“In the midst of the current operations in Gaza and the delicate situation in the region, we are prompted to intensify our security co-operation and solidarity,” he said.
