Ghana’s annual inflation down to 20.4%

Ghana’s annual inflation rate went down to 20.4 per cent in August, reflecting a notable increase in the general price level of goods and services over the past year.  Monthly inflation decreased by 0.7 per cent in August.

The Food and Non-alcoholic Beverages sector saw a year-on-year (YoY) inflation rate of 19.1 per cent, while Non-Food items experienced a higher rate of 21.5 per cent. Regionally, inflation rates varied, with the North East Region at 10.1 per cent and the Upper East Region at 27.8 per cent. Eight regions recorded inflation rates above the national average of 20.4 per cent.
