General Motors (GM) Korea unveils plans to introduce four new vehicles in South Korea this year including two electric vehicles, as the global automaker looks to expand its presence in the local market, Bloomberg reported on Sunday.
The company plans to introduce two pure electric models: the Cadillac Lyriq SUV and the Chevrolet Equinox SUVs; and two gasoline models, the Cadillac XT4 SUV and the Chevrolet Colorado pickup – throughout the year.
“Despite current infrastructure challenges slowing the EV market, at least for now, we still see great potential in the luxury EV sector…,” said vice president of sales, service and marketing at GM Korea, Gustavo Colossi.
GM Korea sold a total of 468,059 vehicles last year, up 76.6 per cent on year. Trax Crossover and Trailblazer SUVs earned the top two spots in Korean passenger car exports for 2023.
