Gold prices ease in Egypt today, Thursday, 2 April, 2026

Gold prices in Egypt edged lower on Thursday, even as investors sought safe-haven assets amid rising geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.

By 16:41 Cairo time (14:44 GMT), 24-carat gold was trading at about 8,200 Egyptian pounds per gram, down 74.25 pounds, or 0.9 per cent, from 8,274.25 pounds on Wednesday.

Gold prices in Egypt generally track global bullion trends, while also reflecting local supply and demand dynamics and movements in the Egyptian pound. On global markets, gold was trading at $4,685.89 per ounce, with the Egyptian pound quoted at 54.4014 per US dollar.
