Gold prices edge higher ahead of US CPI data

Gold prices edged higher in early Wednesday trade, with spot gold rising 0.27 per cent to $2,523.56 per ounce by 8:10 GMT, while US gold futures climbed 0.34 per cent to $2,551.60.

Market attention is now turning to the US Consumer Price Index (CPI) data, scheduled for release later on Wednesday, followed by the Producer Price Index (PPI) report on Thursday.
