Gold prices edge lower amid tariff uncertainty, Fed speculation

Gold prices fell slightly on Wednesday due to uncertainty over US President Donald Trump’s tariffs and anticipation of Friday’s payrolls data influencing the Federal Reserve’s monetary policy.

Spot gold prices dropped at 1:53 PM GMT by 0.70 per cent to $2,897.67 per ounce, compared to the previous closing price of $2,917.96.

Meanwhile, US gold futures fell 0.46 per cent to $2,907.29 per ounce, compared to Tuesday’s closing of $2,920.6.
