Gold prices in Egypt edged lower on Tuesday, even as investors globally sought safe-haven assets amid rising geopolitical tensions in the Middle East.
By 16:36 Cairo time (14:36 GMT), 24-carat gold was trading at around 8,160 Egyptian pounds per gram, down 11.5 pounds, or 0.14 per cent, from Monday’s 8,171.5 pounds.

Gold prices in Egypt generally mirror global bullion trends while also reflecting local supply-demand dynamics and fluctuations in the Egyptian pound. On international markets, gold was trading at $4,654.07 per ounce, with the Egyptian pound quoted at 54.7537 per US dollar.
