Gold prices in Egypt rose on Wednesday, following gains in international markets, even as domestic demand remained relatively subdued, official data showed.
By 16:00 p.m. local time (14:00 GMT), 24-carat gold was trading at 6,834.25 Egyptian pounds per gram, up 34.25 pounds or 0.5 per cent, from Tuesday’s close of 6,800 pounds. Other purities posted similar increases:
