Gold prices surged to a record high on Wednesday due to trade war tensions and worries about global economic growth, prompted by US President Donald Trump‘s latest tariff threats.
Spot gold prices increased at 3:25 AM GMT by 0.02 per cent to $2,935.85 per ounce, compared to the previous closing price of $2,935.3.
Meanwhile, US gold futures also rose 0.15 per cent to $2,953.41 per ounce, compared to Friday’s closing of $2,949.
