Gold prices slip as investors await US data

Gold prices decreased on Monday for a second consecutive session as investors awaited US economic data and comments from Federal Reserve officials this week for more clarity on the future direction of US interest rates.

Spot gold prices dropped by 0.42 per cent at 6:40 GMT to $2,672.51 per ounce, compared to weekend’s closing price of $2,683.77. While, US gold futures fell 0.59 per cent to $2,679.00, compared to Friday’s closing of $2,694.8.
