Google hires team to be based in Cairo
Lino Cattaruzzi, managing director of Google business operations in the Middle East and North Africa, said the improved investment atmosphere in Egypt and newly-adopted legislative measures encourages Google to reopen its office in Egypt.
Cattaruzzi’s statements came during a meeting with Minister of Investment Sahar Nasr, according to a statement issued by the ministry on Sunday.
The two discussed cooperation between the ministry and Google company and its future investments in Egypt and Africa, especially in the fields of entrepreneurship, small and medium-sized enterprises, and education.
Nasr said Egypt’s political leadership gives priority to investment in human resources and innovation, saying the company is working on establishing a “Google Campus” for training courses and start-ups.
Nasr escorted Cattaruzzi on a tour of Egypt’s Investor Service Centre, to get acquainted with investment opportunities offered to investors.
