Grand Egyptian Museum attracts 18k visitors on first public opening day

 Egypt’s Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) drew a heavy turnout on its first day of opening to the public, welcoming around 18,000 visitors, the ministry of tourism announced on Wednesday. The opening also attracted extensive media coverage from both local and international outlets.

The ministry also stated that visitors praised the museum’s integrated cultural, recreational, and service facilities, describing the experience as a remarkable addition to Egypt’s cultural landscape.
