Greece’s economy seen shrinking by 5-10% this year due to coronavirus: minister
Greece’s economy, hit hard by coronavirus restrictions, is set to shrink by 5-10 percent this year, the country’s Finance Minister Christos Staikouras announced on Saturday.
“It seems we have been settling at a range of between 5 and 10 percentage points,” Staikouras told Open television station.
The estimates are changing constantly, depending on the impact of the pandemic restrictions and on how those restrictions will be lifted, the Greek minister added.
As of late Friday, Greece had reported 2,490 coronavirus cases, including 130 deaths, a low rate compared to other neighbouring EU member countries.
