Gulf investors are genuinely interested in making more businesses in Egypt but need some guarantees, said Mohamed Taha, Vice Chairman of Banque Du Caire, on Tuesday.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of EFG-Hermes One on One Conference in Dubai, Taha referred to how well-attended the EFG event was by Gulf investors who were willing to ease their concerns about stability and investment risks in Egypt so as to start more businesses in it.
The top banking official said the Gulf investors are primarily concerned about stability where they can feel their investments are safe, and where there is an ease of going in and out. The new government is entitled to grant the investors necessary guarantees within the upcoming period, he noted.
On new projects promoted on the sidelines of the EFG’s event, Taha stated that they are mostly in the touristic sector i.e. Talaat Moustafa Group and SODIC’s projects in Hurghada and Sharm El Sheikh.
