Hong Kong’s external merchandise trade showed growth in November 2024, as total exports increased while imports of goods decreased compared to the previous year, according to data from the Census and Statistics Department on Monday.
The value of total exports of goods rose 5.2 per cent in December 2024, compared to the same period last year, reaching $406.7 billion. This follows a 2.1 per cent year-on-year increase recorded in November 2024.
Simultaneously, the value of imports of goods fell 1.1 per cent year-on-year to $441.2 billion in December 2024, following a 5.7 per cent increase in November 2024, the report added.
