Haier Egypt, a manufacturer of home appliances, will launch the second phase of its industrial complex on June to manufacture refrigerators and freezers, according to a Cabinet’s statement on Sunday.
Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly met with Haier Egypt’s general manager Ahmed El Gendy, to discuss the company’s expansion plans and commitment to manufacturing refrigerators, freezers, and new factory for central AC units.
The company plans a first-of-its-kind Middle East central AC factory in January 2025, spanning 45,000 square metres for expansion. The project aims to reduce import costs and increase exports to raise foreign currency.
The project will encompass VRF systems and Chiller units. It will create jobs, and establish Egypt as a regional AC leader. The first phase, already operational with a $5 million investment, produces low and medium-capacity units.
Madbouly emphasised the government’s commitment to supporting serious investors who contribute to the Egyptian economy by reducing import bills and providing high-quality products.
