Hawass starts international tours to promote Egypt’s tourism
World-renowned Egyptologist Zahi Hawass will begin a promotional tour of targeted tourism markets to promote tourism sector in Egypt, according to Ministry of Tourism statement on Monday.
The Egyptian General Authority for Tourism Promotion is organising this promotional tours as part of its strategy to benefit from Hawass’ status and fame as a scientist to boost tourism in the country, especially cultural tourism.
Hawass will start these tours with a visit to the Baltic countries (Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania) from 10 to 13 September and then head to the Copenhagen, Denmark’s capital for a two-day visit.
During these tours, Hawass will hold a number of lectures in which to review the most important archaeological discoveries recently uncovered in Egypt, the statement added.
