Zambia’s national football team has returned home to a hero’s welcome, after winning the 2012 Africa Cup of Nations against all odds.
With an escort of jet fighters screaming above, tens of thousands of fans took to the streets of the capital Lusaka on Monday to welcome back the Zambian players, after the underdogs beat Ivory Coast, considered one of the continent’s best sides, in a dramatic penalty shootout after the final in Gabon ended goalless.
