U.S. Hill International (NYSE: HIL) has finished renovation processes at The Nile Ritz-Carlton hotel with total cost worth around EGP 1 billion (US$127.7 million), Regional Manager Waleed Abdel-Fatttah said Thursday.
Abdel-Fattah, also Hill International’s Vice President, stated that the company has started the renovation processes in the hotel at the middle of 2011b till the end of July 2015.
The Nile-Carlton hotel, located across Tahrir square, is owned by Misr Hotels Co., affiliated to The Holding Company for Tourism, Hotels and Cinema (HOTAC).
HOTAC is one of the leading companies in the field of tourism and hotels in Egypt and the Arab world, which has a great experience in this field.
In 2011, Hill International received a contract from Misr Hotels co. to manage the renovation of the soon-to-be inaugurated hotel.
According to the Hill International website, the project was constructed on an area of roughly 64,000 square meters.
The newly-developed hotel was inaugurated by the Egyptian Investment Minister Ashraf Salman in Thursday in the presence of Planning and International Cooperation Minister Ashraf El-Araby and a number of HOTAC’s leaders.
After developing it, Nile-Carlton hotel become one of the most prominent hotels in the Middle East, Abdel-Fattah said.
He added that the hotel will officially operate with its 13 floors, encompassing 327 rooms and 52 suites, at the end of September 2015.
Hill International is an international construction consulting firm founded in 1976.
