Honda Motor has announced an ambitious plan to launch six next-generation EVs under the new Ye brand by 2027 in China, the world’s largest auto market, Reuters reported on Tuesday.
In addition to the Ye series, Honda also plans to introduce a total of 10 Honda-branded EVs in China by 2027.
This aggressive strategy aligns with Honda’s goal of achieving 100 per cent electric vehicle sales in China by 2035.
Honda acknowledges it has lagged behind European and American rivals, including General Motors and Volkswagen in the EV race, particularly in the crucial Chinese market.
The company appears to be leveraging this existing foundation to build a strong presence in the booming Chinese EV market.
