Dr. Khairi Abdel Dayem, Doctors Syndicate Head, affirmed that Prime Minister Dr. Hesham Kandil’s meeting with trade unions was positive and fruitful. The meeting focused on the current situation in the country, while heads of syndicates expressed their desire in supporting the country and the Egyptian Renaissance project, pointing out that syndicates need services related to housing, pension, and medical services.
In a statement issued by the Doctors Syndicate on Sunday, Abdel Dayem noted that heads of syndicates have met the the Minister of Housing, who promised to offer trade unions some plots included under the projects of the new Ministry. Minister of Housing also emphasized that starting from the middle of September, he will hold individual meetings with each trade union, in order to set mechanisms for providing them with plots to be used in housing projects, according to MENA.
He added that some trade unions have demanded support for their retirement funds. However, the Minister asserted that they cannot finance these funds during the current period.
On his part, Prime Minister Dr. Hesham Kandil suggested that the Doctors Syndicate develop a project for providing comprehensive health insurance to all syndicates.
Abdel Dayem pointed out that a meeting will be held next Thursday between university hospitals, Dr.Mostafa Hamed, Minister of Health, Dr. Mostafa Mosa’ad, Minister of Higher Education, and Major General Ahmed Gamal El-Din, for setting out procedures for insurance, given that the Ministry of Interior has established an independent department for the insurance on hospitals, in addition developing a plan for training employees at hospitals on insurance steps.
