IBM Corporation is aiming to cooperate with the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) Minister in order to launch the new digital identity project for the citizens by partnership PPP system.
Amr Talaat, General Manager of IBM Egypt asserted that the company negotiated with the ICT Ministry so as to implement several joint drafts by PPP system, especially for what is related to the digital identity for citizens.
Talaat pointed out that the Ministry will base on big databases for investing in digital identity project, noting that the implementation of the project will provide fresh financing sources to the state’s treasury including the identification of the assets owned by the members through the national ID and therefore embed a new segment of taxpayers and other services.
Talaat confirmed that the trend toward Big Data has become a global trend, considering that the entry of these investments in Egypt as one of the future projects in line with the global situation in investments in the information technology sector.
It is worth mentioning that ICT Ministry launched digital identity project as one of the most strategic axes which scheduled to be finalized during the next five years among the completion of implementing the national drafts and initiatives by the Ministry.
