IDA, Building Materials Chamber to improve 5-year strategy for Egypt’s mines sector

Egyptian Building Materials Chamber at Federation Of Egyptian Industries (FEI) is cooperating with Industrial Development Authority (IDA) to study designing a five-year strategy for marble, granite, and mines industries.

Speaking to Amwal Al Ghad Thursday, CEO of the chamber Hatem Manoufi stated that the study is set to encompass an analysis for current situation of such important industries.

It would also include axes of developing those industries as pursuant to the local challenges and global changes to make a clear vision about the sector.

The strategy targets determining reasons behind the decline in exports of building materials industries within the current period, the official added.

He noted that IDA is currently negotiating with a number of consultancy offices on making the study.

The study is set to be finished during six months from the date of signing the cooperation agreement between the IDA and the consultancy office that would be chosen for conducting the study, Manoufi pointed out.
