IDF Chief: Egypt Border Fence Won’t Eliminate Threat

IDF Chief of Staff Lt. Gen. Benny Gantz has visited the site of a terror attack that claimed the life of an Israeli corporal on Friday, talked to troops stationed at the Egyptian border and lauded the soldiers’ swift response to the attack.

“The Sinai border will continue to pose a challenge for us. We have made a great effort over the past two years to seal the border with Egypt and it will be sealed, but even when that happens, the threat won’t be eliminated,” Gantz said, referring to the construction of the border fence.
