Judge Yehya Galal, Assistant to Minister of Justice for Illicit Gains Authority Affairs, decided to ban former Premier Ahmed Shafiq and his three daughters, Sherine, Mai and Omniya, from disposing of their real state and liquid properties. Ahmed Shafiq also was put on Cairo International Airport’s watch list.
The ministry of justice’s spokesperson Judge Ahmed Roshdy said this decision came after the investigations which accuse Ahmed Shafiq with illicit gains.
Immediately following his loss to Muslim Brotherhood candidate Mohamed Morsi in Egypt’s first post-Mubarak presidential election this summer, Shafiq traveled to the United Arab Emirates. It was later revealed that the former presidential hopeful planned to remain in the UAE for “security reasons.”
