IMF: Egypt’s GDP to grow 3% in 2024, 4.4% in 2025
Egypt’s economy will grow by 3.0 per cent in 2024, the International Monetary Fund (IMF) said in its upgraded World Economic Outlook on Tuesday.
The IMF also forecast Egypt’s economic growth at 4.4 per cent in 2025 year, making a slight downward revision to its January projections of 4.7 per cent growth.
The North African country’s consumer price inflation is expected to record 32.5 per cent this year and 25.7 per cent in 2025, the Washington-based international lender added in its report.
The IMF also projected the unemployment rates in Egypt to reach 7.1 per cent and 7.0 per cent in 2024 and 2025, respectively.
