The General Authority for Supply Commodities (GASC) has announced a new international tender for importing 180.000 tons of Russian and Roman wheat to be used in producing subsidized bread.
Nomani Nasr Nomani, GASC Vice Chairman, has stated that the offers have been approved based on the fact that technical specifications for wheat quality are following the Egyptian standard specifications.
He added that Olam company will supply 60.000 tons of Russian wheat with the price of $ 319 per ton, and freight for $ 11.64, while Aston will supply 60.000 tons of Russian wheat for $ 320.94 per ton, freight for $ 11.7 per ton, and Amperiopa will supply 60.000 tons of Roman wheat for $ 323.38 per ton, and freight for 10.10 per ton.
He also pointed out that the required quantities of wheat will be provided starting from the first to the tenth of next October.
Moreover, the Authority has launched a tender on the 14th of this August to import 120.000 tons of Russian and Ukrainian wheat for the production of subsidized bread and the required quantities will be supplied from the 21st to the 30th of next December.
