The Indian rupee extended its winning streak for the seventh consecutive session on Thursday, the longest since January 2024, supported by ongoing dollar sales from foreign banks and reduced short positions on the currency amid a stronger dollar.
The rupee reached a nearly two-month high of 86.2075 against the US dollar earlier in the day before ending the day at 86.3675, marking a 0.1 per cent increase.
