Indian rupee hits lowest in 7th sessions on dollar strength

The Indian rupee fell for the sixth time in seven sessions on Wednesday, briefly dropping below 86 against the US dollar, as traders closed out their bullish positions due to ongoing demand for the greenback.

The rupee fell to 86.0225 on Wednesday but later slightly recovered to close the day 0.4 per cent down at 85.90.
