Indian stocks record new highs

India’s stock market surged to record highs on Tuesday, fuelled by a rally in heavyweight financial and banking stocks.

Both key market indices, the NSE Nifty 50 and S&P BSE Sensex hit record highs today. The Nifty 50 closed at 23,667.85 points, up 0.6 per cent, and the Sensex reached 77,855, up 0.66 per cent.
