India’s CPI inflation drops in Jan. ’25

India’s headline inflation, measured by the year-on-year Consumer Price Index (CPI), stood at 4.31 per cent in January 2025, marking a decline of 91 basis points from December 2024, according to provisional data.

Food inflation, based on the all-India Consumer Food Price Index (CFPI), was 6.02 per cent in January 2025 compared to January 2024. The rural and urban inflation rates were 6.31 per cent and 5.53 per cent, respectively.
