India’s cumulative exports of merchandise and services reached $142.43 billion in April–May 2025, marking a 5.75 per cent increase from $134.69 billion during the same period in 2024, according to official data released on Tuesday.

Merchandise exports stood at $77.19 billion during the two months, up 3.07 per cent from $74.89 billion a year earlier. Non-petroleum exports rose 7.53 per cent to $64.25 billion, compared to $59.75 billion in April–May 2024.

The growth in merchandise exports was driven by strong performances in electronic goods, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, marine products, and ready-made garments (RMG) of all textiles, according to the statement.
