India’s exports rise despite trade gap increase

India’s merchandise and services exports grew 3.76 per cent to $65.19 billion in September 2024 compared to September 2023, while imports reached $71.68 billion, resulting in a wider trade deficit, an official report showed on Tuesday.

In the first half of fiscal year 2024 (April-September), exports increased by 4.86 per cent to $393.22 billion, while imports grew by 6.89 per cent to $448.05 billion, resulting in a larger trade gap compared to the previous year.
