India’s Ostwal to establish fertiliser production facility in Egypt
India’s Ostwal Group Of Industries is set to invest $300 million in a new fertiliser production facility in Egypt, with an annual production capacity exceeding 700,000 tons. The announcement followed a meeting between the Egypt’s Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade, Hassan El-Khatib, and a delegation from Ostwal on Wednesday.
The proposed project aims to leverage Egypt’s strategic location and favourable investment conditions. El Khatib highlighted that the Indian group is looking to export to markets across the Middle East, Africa, and Europe, in addition to the Indian market. He further emphasised the availability of raw materials, skilled labour, and energy as key factors driving the decision to invest in Egypt.
Moreover, the Minister stressed Egypt’s commitment to supporting global investments by improving the investment climate, offering incentives, and addressing potential obstacles. The new facility is expected to enhance Egypt’s role as a global production and export hub.
