India’s annual wholesale inflation rate, as measured by the Wholesale Price Index (WPI), rose to 1.84 per cent in September 2024 compared to the same month in 2023, according to a report by the Ministry of Commerce and Industry on Monday.
The increase in September’s inflation rate was primarily driven by higher prices in food articles, food products, other manufacturing sectors, and the manufacturing of motor vehicles, trailers, and machinery.
The month-over-month change in the WPI index for September 2024 was 0.06 per cent compared to August 2024.
