A number of experts in the tourism sector affirmed that there reservations at hotels and tourism companies for the winter time give positive indicators that the next season will witness a reinvigoration of tourism.
Amr Sedky, board member at the Chamber of Tourism Companies, pointed out that despite concerns that the tourism sector would be affected by the U.S embassy events that emerged as a protest against the Prophet’s profaning movie, reservations for the winter season testify to the contrary, particularly those made up till the end of October. Sedky emphasized that the role played by security forces in handing sit-in, the current relative stability, in addition to the beautifying of Tahrir square would all contribute to a gradual increase in winter reservations.
Sedky further expected that all tourist markets will grow during the winter, especially the U.S market. He pointed out to the importance of Nile cruises marketing in attracting incoming tourism.
