Indonesia reports highest new coronavirus cases in one day

Indonesia confirmed on Thursday the biggest daily jump in coronavirus infections since cases were first announced last month, with 337 new cases bringing total to 3,293, said a health ministry official, Achmad Yurianto.

Yurianto reported 40 new deaths, taking the total to 280, while 252 people have recovered.

The total number of recovered patients has also increased to 252.

The capital city recorded 236 new confirmed cases, bringing the total tally to 1,706. Meanwhile, East Java reported 27 new cases, Bali 14, and Riau Islands 13.
