Indonesia’s National Wholesale Price Index (WPI) increased 1.96 per cent year-on-year in November 2024, according to latest data by the country’s statistical agency – Statistics Indonesia on Monday.
The Manufacturing Sector experienced the most significant price increase, rising 2.05 per cent year-on-year.
The year-on-year price increase was primarily driven by higher prices for commodities such as oil palms, palm/coconut kernel cooking oils, filtered cigarettes with cloves, coffee beans, and rubber gum.
On a month-to-month basis, the WPI rose by 0.26 per cent in November 2024. Year-to-date, the WPI increased by 1.58 per cent.
The WPI for Construction Materials also saw a year-on-year increase of 0.52 per cent in November 2024, primarily due to higher prices for cement, sands, stone for construction foundations, asphalt, and floorings.
