Egyptian trade and industry ministry is currently studying establishing a comprehensive industrial complex for pharmaceuticals in Beni Suef governorate, Minister Tarek Qabil stated Thursday.
The complex is set to be built on the space of 400 feddans and set to produce pharmaceuticals from medical and aromatic botanicals .
The minister made these remarks during his meeting with Beni Suef governor Sherif Habib in which both sides discussed necessary procedures to study that large project.
The set-to-be built project is expected to boost the added value of medical and aromatic botanicals since the governorate seizes 40 percent of Egypt’s total exports of those botanicals.
Qabil stated that the governorate would held meeting with Industrial Development Authority (IDA) to make a cooperation protocol that targets conducting full study about the complex, in addition to necessary infrastructures that the region needs.
He added that private pharmaceuticals firms are set to take part in this study since the project aims at covering Egyptian citizen’s needs of medicines. Part of project’s production is set to be exported, the minister clarified.
