Euro area Inflation stays at 2% in July, EU edges up to 2.4%
Inflation in the euro area recorded 2.0 per cent in July 2025, unchanged from June and down from 2.6 per cent a year earlier, Eurostat said on Wednesday.
Meanwhile, inflation in the European Union (EU) stood at 2.4 per cent, edging up from 2.3 per cent in June but below the 2.8 per cent recorded in July 2024.
Compared with June, annual inflation fell in eight EU states, was stable in six and rose in 13.
Services made the largest contribution to euro area inflation in July, adding 1.46 percentage points, followed by food, alcohol and tobacco with 0.63 per cent. Energy dragged inflation down by 0.23 per cent.
